Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-07-11
These terms govern use of SeqBench (https://seqbench.com) — the website, the JSON REST API, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Description of the service
SeqBench provides stateless bioinformatics computation tools — including sequence analysis, primer and oligo design, restriction and Gibson cloning simulation, CRISPR guide design, and plasmid annotation — accessible from a browser, a REST API, and an MCP server, with batch processing over FASTA files. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
Research and educational use only
SeqBench is provided for research, educational, and general molecular-biology workflow purposes only. It is not designed, validated, or authorized for clinical diagnosis, patient treatment decisions, or any other medical use, and must not be used to process Protected Health Information (PHI) or other patient-identifiable clinical data. You are solely responsible for verifying any result against an authoritative source before relying on it for a consequential decision.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Break any applicable law, or design or analyze sequences intended for use in bioweapons, pathogens of concern, or other unlawful or harmful biological applications;
- Disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
- Reverse engineer the Service in order to build a competing product from it; or
- Send automated or bulk traffic that disregards documented rate limits or otherwise degrades the Service for other users.
We may throttle, block, or otherwise restrict traffic that we reasonably believe threatens the stability, security, or integrity of the Service.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the sequences and data you submit, and to the results generated from them. We claim no ownership over user-submitted data or tool output. The SeqBench name, branding, website design, and underlying software are owned by SeqBench and may not be copied or used to build a competing service without permission.
Third-party data and services
Some tools query public third-party databases (for example, NCBI) using the identifier you supply. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of use of any third-party source.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Tools use documented formulas, reference tables, and assumptions, but results may still contain errors and are not a substitute for validation in your own hands.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SeqBench and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on a result produced by the Service.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time, and may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will update the date above; continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where SeqBench operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
